The Shore Line is on the road, researching and exploring sites and so far we have visited cities and communities in Canada, U.S., India, Bangladesh, Panama, Indonesia, New Zealand and Chile. We have begun to upload videos, photos and information about the people we are meeting and you can see photos and find out more about each country by selecting the country image. Video profiles can be found on the video page.

New Zealand is one of the first countries to contend with climate refugee claimants. Chile has the most Glaciers of any country in South America but no legislation to protect them. The expansion of the Panama Canal has meant growth for Panama but finding sustainable ways to manage the growth is an ongoing challenge. Vancouver is the Canadian city most at risk for economic devastation in the event of sea level rise and to meet this challenge is working to become the greenest city in the world. Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated nations in the world and is also one of the countries most vulnerable to the impacts of sea level rise and climate changes. And while Long Beach Island New Jersey, USA has seen many storms over time, development trends in the last couple of decades have made the community increasing vulnerable to events like Superstorm Sandy. A decade ago, Cyclone Aila caused endless destruction for communities along India’s 7500 km coastline. And cities like Jakarta, Indonesia are facing floods of people and water.
